The impetus is Mr. Schuester's desire to teach his glee clubbers a lesson in self-acceptance ? even though they showed no signs of having major self-acceptance issues last week, as you might expect from a crowd that won regionals with the defiant self-authored anthem Loser Like Me. But as with teenagers, Glee's moods are mercurial.
?They're singing over at NBC as well, with the premiere of TV's latest talent contest/reality import, The Voice (9 ET/PT).
The twist on this one is that four stars ?Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton? select eight singers each for their four teams and then try to coach them to victory.
The first problem the four coaches face is convincing a talent-show-soaked nation that it should commit to yet another contest ? particularly when the most popular such contest is reaching its Idolic peak.
