Earlier this week, British singer Adele had to postpone five shows because of laryngitis.
Now, we've just gotten word that she has been forced to cancel the remaining nine dates of her sold-out North American tour due to ongoing illness.
While resting in Los Angeles, Adele, 23, met with an Otolaryngology specialist who determined "it was imperative that she take the next few weeks to recover with absolute voice rest."
She was hoping to resume her tour on June 4 in San Francisco, but can't. "I'm really frustrated," she says in a statement from Columbia Records. "I was hoping with a week's rest I'd be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctor's advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele"
Plans are underway to see if rescheduling the canceled dates will be possible.
