Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake were once a real life couple and now they're reuniting on screen ? but there was nothing awkward about the former flames working together.
Being on set with Timberlake, 30, on the upcoming Bad Teacher "really wasn't a big deal," Diaz, 38, said before accepting the award for Female Star of the Year at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Wednesday. "We had a great time."
And the pair's shared sense of humor came in handy. "Justin and I have always had a good laugh together, and to make a movie where we get to have a laugh together," Diaz said. "There really was no one else who was more perfect for this part. That's why he got the part."
In the movie, Diaz plays a foul-mouthed teacher who sets her sights on Timberlake, a new colleague at the school.
"He's a genius comedian, everybody knows," she said. "Saturday Night Live and all the stuff that he's done over the years, he's clearly talented. We went for the best person for the job, and it just so happened that it was him. And he delivers."

The 11 American Idol finalists went for broke last night and we break down the best of the best. Meanwhile, Britney Spears modeled for Dolce & Gabbana.
Not her typical hooded sweatshirt, but it worked. Elsewhere, Katy Perry released a crazy new video and the Kardashians talked about the Kardashians.

Sure, a save is sweet and all, but that meant two had to be sacrificed on tonight's American Idol.
Casey Abrams benefited last week from the judges' belief that the competition wasn't ready to move on without him...but what if the voters begged to differ last night?!
More than 55 million votes were cast?that's 25 million more than last week and a record for this stage in the competition?in the hopes that the right nine would make it through the gauntlet Thursday.
Did the judges save Casey for nothing last week?
MORE: Idol contestants flee their haunted mansion
Nope! He sailed on through, with Ryan Seacrest telling him, "If you knew how many [votes] you got, you'd be very proud."
Instead, it was the end of the road for 16-year-old Thia Megia and 26-year-old Naima Adedapo?an end we admittedly saw coming a mile away.
Thia may have had her best showing of the season so far with "Daniel," but it was too little, too late on Elton John night, which was full of strong performances. And Naima's ouster was even less shocking, especially when you factor in the silly accent she affected for her reggae adaptation of "I'm Still Standing."
Sadly, she sounded better on her duet with Jacob Lusk tonight on Ashford & Simpson's "Solid" than she has since the live performances began.
But, boy, they aren't kidding when they tell you not to ever assume that your favorites are safe!
Paul McDonald slipped through the cracks and into the bottom three this week after underwhelming with "Rocket Man." So, to all you Paul fans out there, don't turn your back on the sleepy voiced cutie next week if you want him to stick around!
The 26-year-old seemed more than a bit thrown when Ryan revealed that he, and not Stefano Langone, was joining Naima and Thia in the bottom three. But he survives to wiggle his way through another pop song next week.
WATCH: Casey redeemed himself with this performance

Keith Brown (l.) pleaded guilty in February to one felony count of sodomy of a child and two felony counts of sexual abuse of a child.
PROVO, Utah -- The father of the renowned piano group The 5 Browns was sentenced Thursday to serve at least 10 years in prison on charges that he sexually abused his three daughters when they were children.
Keith S. Brown, 55, pleaded guilty in February to one felony count of sodomy of a child and two felony counts of sexual abuse of a child.
Fourth District Judge David Mortensen sentenced Brown to 10 years to life on the first count, and 15 years to life for each of the others. The sentences will run concurrently, but Brown will have to serve at least 10 years under the plea agreement.
"I do believe, sir, that you are a pedophile, and I do believe that you are a danger to society," Mortensen said before handing down the sentence.
PHOTOS: BROWN JOINS THE LIST OF BAD CELEBRITY DADS
Brown had been free pending the sentencing but was led away by a bailiff after Thursday's hearing to be taken to the Utah State Prison.
Brown's three daughters Desirae, 32, Deondra, 30, and Melody, 26, and two sons make up The 5 Browns, whose albums have topped the classical music charts and who have appeared on "Oprah," "60 Minutes" and other programs.
Keith Brown once served as manager of his children's group, but they severed their professional relationship with him in 2008.
The Brown sisters remain estranged from their father. They reported the abuse to Lone Peak police last year after learning that their father planned to begin working with other young musicians.

The Associated Press does not generally identify people who say they were sexually abused, but the Brown sisters have chosen to be identified.
Kimball Thomson, a spokesman for group, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that sisters weren't in court Thursday because they are on tour. All three wrote letters to the judge expressing their feelings about the case, Thomson said. The letters are not public.
"The girls don't want to make any statements about the case right now," Thomson said.
Deputy Utah County Attorney David Sturgill on Thursday called Brown's daughters courageous and said he was satisfied with the negotiated plea and the sentence. Sturgill has said the three charges don't reflected the years-long pattern of abuse suffered by Brown's children.
"To say whether 10 years, 15, 20 years in jail or prison is enough for he's done, I don't know," Sturgill said. "Whether it's good or bad, he has changed the course of their lives, and I don't know if there's any price he could possibly pay that would make up for that."
Court documents state the allegations stem from separate events between November 1990 and March 1998 in Utah County. There are no statutes of limitation in Utah that prevent prosecutors from filing such sex crime charges.
STARS WHO HAVE HAD RUN-INS WITH THE LAW
After the hearing, defense attorney Steven Shapiro said Brown is remorseful and had expressed his apologies to the court, his family and the community in a letter to the judge rather than speaking in open court.
"I think every step that he has taken in this process has been geared towards taking responsibility for what he's done," Shapiro said.
That the judge called Brown a pedophile "probably fits with the statutory definition of what that is," he said.
Brown chose to enter the plea to bring a quick resolution to the case and did not want to "exacerbate the harm" by dragging out the proceedings, Shapiro has said.
Three days after prosecutors filed the charges, a car Brown was driving plunged 300 feet over a cliff in Salt Lake City's Little Cottonwood Canyon. Brown and Lisa Brown, 54, the mother of the group members, were hospitalized after the Valentine's Day crash that left the Porsche mangled and unrecognizable.
The crash was deemed an accident by Salt Lake County sheriff's investigators, who said Brown was driving too fast for the winding two-lane canyon road.
Doesn?t everyone know who Lisa Vanderpump is? At least everyone should know who Giggy is!

Luckily Giggy didn?t have to endure a pat down as well. Giggy is such a big star now that he has his own agent.
?It?s true,? Vanderpump tells UsMagazine.com of her beloved Pomeranian, who became a breakout star on the first season of Bravo?s smash. ?He?s with CAA.? That would be Creative Artists? Agency, the same mega-firm that has such A-listers as Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts as clients. Adds Vanderpump of her pride and joy: ?He?s very talented and ready to work.?
I?m assuming Giggy will now receive a salary for the next season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Prince Harry is up near the North Pole prepping for his trek with wounded veterans. But anybody interviewing him has to sneak in a question about his brother's upcoming wedding and the recent bachelor party Harry is said to have thrown for Prince William.
"I'm not going to talk about that," Harry told ABC News' Bob Woodruff during an interview in Svalbard, Norway, for Good Morning America.
The young prince , did open up a little about the upcoming nuptials.
"It's a big deal. It's not just a normal wedding," said Prince Harry. "It's a really big decision for him to bring Kate into the family."
Harry, who will be William's best man at the April 29 wedding, said he hasn't started working on his speech yet. "I am doing the speech along with a couple of his friends, so I will take the mickey out of him. I will have a few stories," he said. "I think my grandmother will be there so I have to be selective, as one might say. .. We will make sure people know the good times and bad times he's had since he was a nipper."
The prince would not say who he was taking to the wedding. "It's not my wedding, I'm just going to be there."
Harry also said he is looking forward to having Middleton in the family. "She's a fantastic girl, she really is, my brother is very lucky," said Harry. "She's very lucky to find my brother. The two of them are a classic match."
Harry said his dad, Prince Charles, has been heavily involved in the wedding plans. "He's obsessed with his music," said Harry. Charles and Kate "have been slaving away, getting everything right."
As the interview wrapped up the young royal got in a final parting show. "Nice, try getting me to talk about the stag weekend," said Harry. "That was never going to happen."
S Club 7 get together in 1997 and are formed of Bradley McIntosh, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Jo O'Meara, Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearritt and Tina Barrett.
After a successful TV series and No 1 hits including Bring It All Back and Don't Stop Movin', the band split in 2004.
On American Idol Wednesday night, the stakes escalated, and re-escalated, as the top 11 from last week all performed once again, with two slotted to be eliminated Thursday. That's because last week, in a conclusion of frenzied excitement, Casey was voted off and then saved. "Truly an incredible moment," Ryan Seacrest said.
The show was devoted to the music of Elton John, a man with a talent for seamless pop songwriting and a taste for flamboyant showmanship.
The surprise triumph of the night was Haley, whose performances have generally been among the most criticized by this season's very indulgent judges. She began with "Benny and the Jets" perched atop a piano ? an odd strategy ? and sang it at a slowed, almost bluesy beat. The judges were thrilled: "That was it, Haley," Jennifer Lopez said. "It all came together ? the voice, the moves, the confidence." Randy Jackson called it the "best performance of the night." Steven said, "You sing sexy!"
Casey, not only chastened but better groomed after his escape, sang a fairly tidy and controlled version of "Your Song." He reserved his Joe Cocker growls for the end, then concluded on a quiet near-falsetto. By now he's becoming one of those unlucky singers who have to keep rethinking their approach, but the judges all reiterated how glad they were they'd saved him. "Absolutely brilliant," Randy said.
Having unexpectedly landed in the bottom two last week, Stefano tackled "Tiny Dancer," which concerned Jimmy Iovine because of its tricky chorus. But he negotiated it successfully. Stefano remains Stefano ? a great voice who indulges in wedding-singer gestures. (He ended by holding his hand out to Jennifer. Randy tried to take it instead.) "Amazing," Jennifer said. "You started connecting to your audience," Randy added. "You nailed it," said Steven.
James decided to launch "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" at the back of the stage, descending down what should be called the Seacrest Stairs. At the height of his romping and stomping, the onstage piano burst into flames. Well, that was something new. "You brought the heat, didn't you," Steven said. Ba-dum-bum. "Dude, that was a great, great performance," said Randy.
Scotty sang "Country Comfort" for his grandmother, who was in the audience. Maybe it was the song, but I felt I was being comforted into a deep country nap. The judges were delighted: "The fact that you tip a hat to Grandma is the best," said Steven, larding him with praise. Jennifer saluted his "amazing instincts."
Naima performed "I'm Still Standing" with a reggae beat and accent. It caught fire only intermittently. Jennifer began her comments with the phrase, "I love you," and Naima instantly recognized that what was coming wouldn't be too positive. "It came off kinda corny," according to Randy, "and that's not who you are." It was probably the biggest miss of the night.
Mr. Iovine, who's beginning to remind me of Larry David the more he comments on the performers, told Paul to sing "Rocket Man" as if it were the encore of a big concert ? which sounded ridiculous, but actually worked. Jennifer and Randy, though, think he needs to test his range more. Steven had no problems with his imperfections: "When you start singing and hitting every note, that's the day when I'm not going to like you any more."
Pia sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," one of her personal favorites, arguably with more desperation than the song warrants. "Pia, you've done it again," Steven said, praising her for sticking to power ballads ? and implicitly making another of his subtle and witty digs at Randy, who last week suggested that she try a change. Randy was wowed, even so.
Lauren softened her approach with a slightly countrified "Candle in the Wind." It brought out a new gentle prettiness in her voice. Randy called it one of her best performances and told her, "You can do anything." Steven called it "just perfect."
Thia sang "Daniel," dedicated to her brother. In rehearsal she received a stern warning from Iovine: If she couldn't convince the audience of her emotion, he doubted she'd survive. The wistful sadness certainly seemed authentic. But then her singing always seems wistful and sad. "It was a beautiful moment for you," said Jennifer. Steven agreed. Randy thought she was still playing it safe. How about setting the piano on fire?
Jacob sang "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" (and met Mary J. Blige, who also covered the song). The hardest word for Jacob would be "understatement," but he seemed to connect with his song much more deeply than any of the other singers. The only criticism, a mild one, came from Randy, urging him to seize a moment to make each song his own. But doesn't he always do that?

Courteney Cox and her 6-year-old daughter Coco were spotted in the Caribbean with Courteney?s Cougar Town costar Josh Hopkins. The two spend plenty of time together during filming for the show, but this vacation was not work-related.
Cox, 46, announced her separation from husband of 11 years, David Arquette, in October. Around this time, she was accused by Arquette of having an ?emotional affair? with Brian Van Holt, another one of her Cougar Town costars. She and Hopkins have also been seen together in Hawaii since the split, but they were only filming scenes for the show.
Despite the trip, Courteney?s rep insists they are only spending time together as friends.
?The relationship is strictly platonic and they are away with a group of friends on vacation.?
Another source close to the two is adamant about their friendship.
?Courteney and Josh are great friends. There?s definitely nothing going on there.?
Cox still admits to having ?strong feelings? for her ex-husband, but this will become harder to believe if she and her daughter keep spending time with Hopkins.
Kould Kim K's man Kris Humphries be hiding something?
During a recent interview, a friend of Kris' ex-girlfriend Bianka Kamber said that Humphries "dated [Bianka] for two years, talked marriage with, then dumped [her] without a goodbye."
Bianka's friend has warned Kim that the same could happen to her. We're not worried though.
Sounds to us like Bianka is a jealous ex-gf who was looking for a payday, and if that is in fact the case, then we think it's really sad that she'd stoop to this level.
If somebody we dated in the past sold us out like that, we'd feel awful!
Do U think it's all bullshiz? Or do U think there's any legitimacy to any of this?

Just last month NBC announced Adrianne Palicki will resurrect the role of the crime fighting female, Wonder Woman, in David E. Kelley's newest project, and it seems they are wasting no time. The 'Friday Night Lights' alum was spotted in her full Wonder Woman gear, running through the streets of Hollywood late last night, looking fierce in her red bustier.
The original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, is excited for the remake and doesn't mind if people like Palicki better than her. "You know, I'm very sensitive to the fact that she will be compared. ... There's no getting around it. It is what it is. I would hope that people would cut her some slack."
The pilot has yet to be picked up, but chances seem good as the show has already received quite a bit of buzz.
Vince Neil claims HE was the victim in an alleged assault last week between him and his ex-GF ... insisting she left several bloody marks on his skin -- and TMZ has obtained a photo of the flesh wounds.
It all started last Thursday night -- when, as we previously reported, Neil's ex-girlfriend Alicia Jacobsfiled a battery reportagainst him, claiming the ex-rocker went ballistic on her and a friend while they were watching a show at the Las Vegas Hilton ... and bruised up her shoulder.
But Neil is adamant he never laid a finger on Alicia -- claiming SHE was the aggressor ... digging her nails into his skin and inflicting the bloody wounds in the picture.
We're told Neil -- who has alreadyserved 10 daysin jail this year over a DUI case --is considering pressing charges of his own.

So this chap called Shifty Shellshock, who has recently been whoring himself on reality TV and and is in a band called Crazy Town, was picked up by the LAPD for knocking his ?lady? about.
He denies it and who are we to argue? He told an interviewer that he didn?t
do domestic violence
and that the cops were there because his girlfriend was
being too loud.
Mr Shellshockdidn?t specify whether his girlfriend has a particularly loud laugh, or whether she was screaming too loud in response to Shifty branding her with a hot iron.
We?re sure everything?s great chez Shellshock and frankly we?re more interested in discussing the far more serious crimes against music that Crazy Town have committed. Remember them? Neither could we, so we asked one of the band?s own mothers, and her response was
weren?t they that terrible rap/rock band?
?Terrible rap/rock?. Imagine a post-apocalyptic nuclear war-devastated landscape. The vegetation is burnt to the ground and all but the most basic life extinguished. The very soil itself is burnt. Unpleasant isn?t it? You?ve just imagined the second worst evil that mankind is capable of committing.
The first is ?terrible rap-rock?- performed exclusively by two groups of people. Rappers who don?t understand great rock can come from insecurity, rage and a few other genuine emotions, but not just a hedonistic lifestyle and an overinflated sense of your own talent. And rockers who don?t understand that you have to have something useful to say in order to make great hip-hop. Oh, and the ability to rap. Baggy clothes, silly names and breakbeats aren?t enough.
?Not-terrible rap-rock? is a tiny micro-genre with a handful of good songs, and 95% of them are by the same band.*
But in the desolate shitscape of ?terrible rap-rock? there is a small charred patch that not even the most microscopic of lifeforms caninhabit(if indeed something can be ?more? or ?less? microscopic).
Ladies and gentlemen we give you Crazy Town?s 2001 hit single Butterfly.
*= the paucity of anything positive in the genre is proved by the fact that you know who we?re talking about.

Sources tell us the D.A. believes there is "insufficient evidence" to prosecute Lindsay.
The Palm Desert Police Department had been investigating the confrontation between Lindsay and former staffer Dawn Holland, but ultimately the D.A. felt the firepower wasn't there.

Following Britney Spears' much publicized and over the top performance at the Palms Las Vegas last Friday, casino owners are holding behind-the-scenes meetings to try to figure out how to lure Spears to Sin City for a more permanent show.
"Britney's act is just so Vegas that we think she could be one of the city's biggest moneymakers," a source inside the talks tells PopEater.
Palms owner George Maloof was certainly taken with the pop star. He gushed to MTV News about just how giddy he was about Spears' show.
"I think this one's going to be really over-the-top," he said of Spears' show, which will be included in the MTV special. "And we're all excited about her new album, and I heard it's spectacular, so here we go: Britney Spears at the Palms."
Country star Garth Brooks recently proved just how lucrative Vegas can be for a music icon. Brooks has been performing for sold out crowds at the Wynn Las Vegas since the end of 2009. The demand for tickets has been so high that the casino and resort recently raised ticket prices for this spring's shows to $225 a pop.
"In terms of value, I believe that Garth Brooks is still under-priced and represents the greatest entertainment value in modern Las Vegas," Steve Wynn said about Brooks when the price increase was announced.
Britney, now reaching the top of her game following a rough road back from her breakdown, could bring in even more than Brooks, Vegas insiders claim.
Settling in a single location for a high-profile gig might just suit Spears' new homebody lifestyle. She recently told V magazine that she would be a stay-at-home mom if she could be anything else besides a pop star.
"I'd be a full-time mom, which would be cool. I'd miss my fans and all of the love the most, but I definitely would not miss having my picture taken everywhere I go," Spears told the mag. Vegas would give Brit the best of both worlds. She would be able to wow her fans each night, but have her days free to spend with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, plus all those extra hours she would otherwise have spent on the road touring.
"Britney Spears at the Palms," has a nice ring to it for a full-time gig. It sounds a little like the ding of a full cash register.

This is a guest post by Jude Ower, founder of the Play Mob, our guestcorrespondent out at SXSW, Austin, Texas. Jude is an expert in social games for social good and a serial entrepreneur, based in London, UK.
Another year, another SXSW. Once again Hugh never fails to impress the captive audience with a cutting edge line up of thought provoking and inspirational speakers. Themes this year had 3 consistent threads at the show; the ?game layer?, causes and the lean start up. I found it encouraging that we are all looking at ways of how we become more resourceful, how do we give more and support the global community, and at the same time, how do we do this and have more fun!
At the show we even managed to raise a whopping $50,000 for Japan via collections and text donations. In the same week games giant Zynga also showed a great example of how we can raise funds via other sources of media and audiences and created charitable objects within game City Ville.
I ran a session with Zao Yang who is the original creator of Farmville before his company was acquired. By Zynga. Our panel covered the theme of games for change ? how we use games to engage an audience to make changes in the real world. A lively discussion was moderated between myself and Zao by Brynn Evans. As part of our session we wanted to show how we use current digital tools to do good in the world. During our session we had the audience tweet as much as possible using the hashtags for our session and the person with the most tweets won 100 trees. Not 100 trees delivered to their door, but they got to pick 1 of 4 projects to plant their trees.
Our winner picked Madagascar and very shortly there will be 100 trees planted for this person, all because they tweeted.
This mix of media was prevalent in talks, and also how we engage an audience. Guy Kawasaki gave a brilliant talk on how to make your product ?enchanting?. Jane McGonigal spoke of how we an use games to ?level up? in our lives and how we repair reality, as it?s currently broken. Jane is the Director at the Institute of the Future and gave brilliant stats around how replay around 3 billion hours of game play per week, but we need 12 billion hours of game play if we a to even scratch the surface of solving some of the worlds most pressing issues! Eric Ries and Steve Blank gave a brilliant and packed talk about running a lean start up using agile product development techniques and getting in front of investors fast. If you have not read these guys blogs, I highly recommend them! Within this talk, the founder of Meet Up said by reading Steve Blanks blogs and books, this changed their business to be what it is today.
The keynotes were mixed and all thought provoking. Felicia Day, actress/director/producer and creator of online show The Guild, spoke of how she made the show a success on a shoestring and favours. Now it has millions of viewers and networks not only wanting the show (which she is not going to give up) but also seeding ideas on how we leverage other platforms and think outside the box to get in front of a massive audience and build a fan base.
Blake Macowskie, creator of TOMS shoes, one for one (for every pair of TOMS shoes bought, a child in a developing country also receives a pair of shoes. He spoke of his journey and how it began, from his apartment and how he begun receiving orders of much bigger than the stock he was holding.
He has now sold over 1 million pairs of shoes, and has his next product, which is a secret, launching on June 7th 2011.
The fascinating thing about the other 2 keynotes, Christopher Poole and Seth Priebatsch is that they are both very early 20s. Yet have products and backed by VC funding, in a similar way to the Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook effect. Both barely out of high school, they came onto the stage with confidence, previous track records of speaking at other events such as TED, and were like, well, Rockstars. This is something I noticed as another theme, not just at the show, but in the US as a whole.
Being clever and technical, sometimes known as a geek, is truly admired. Geeks are cool. Geeks are Rockstars!
This got me thinking about the whole entrepreneurial landscape in the US. It is encouraged, not just by schools but also by peers. Maybe this is why we are seeing the US as a hot bed of start ups, a boom of VC support and a place where failure is praised and not discouraged. I think the world has alot to learn about this behaviour. Wouldn?t it be great if next year at SXSW the main stage also had Rockstars from outwith the UK?
Save money, get interest on microcredits, support causes, contribute to organizations? these are all things you can do with the financial platform for women, BolsaCheia, founded by Thereza Bukow.
The startup was a finalist at the Cartier Women?s Initiative Awards.
Brazil?s economy is one of the fastest growing emerging markets and its expanding middle classes are rapidly acquiring wealth. Female purchasing power has increased tremendously.
Yet 29 year-old Thereza Bukow has found that many middle-class women don?t know how to manage or invest this newfound capital. She decided the market was ready for the tools and resources offered by Bolsa Cheia, an Internet platform to educate and empower women financially.
She will be speaking at the 2nd Reunion of Women Business Owners held by the counsel of women founder and SEBRAE in Sao Paulo. Her pitch is available in Portuguese on our media partner?s website, Startupi.
Bolsa Cheia literally means ?plentiful purse? in Portuguese and the goal of Thereza?s company is to make women feel secure about money, investments and donations. The objectives are twofold: to target and attract women looking to invest and to educate on how to save and spend wisely. Educational aspects cover the fundamentals of personal finance, with articles on the mechanisms of interest rates, for example.
Bolsacheia.com initially aims to reach one million women and will gain revenue from advertising, referral fees and consultancy opportunities.
?Women have taken on key roles in the social changes affecting our country,? says Thereza, but given Brazil?s economic past, not everyone has an innate knowledge of how to move forward financially.?
Social gains through networks
Teaching was a childhood vocation for Thereza, who duly trained to be a teacher after graduating with honours from So Paulo University. ?Now I want to take education beyond the classroom. I?ve always wanted to be able to spread knowledge to as many people as possible.?
So it?s no surprise that Bolsa Cheia is linked up to social networking sites, in a country where over 70 million people use the Internet: ?I believe that teamwork breeds progress and women can help each other by sharing. My own social networking led me to find about the Cartier Awards on Facebook!?
To launch her business, Thereza has teamed up with her cousin and strategic advisor, Tiffany Bass Bukow, who successfully developed the MsMoney.com finance education website in the US and inspired Thereza to become an entrepreneur.
Thereza?s role model is no doubt her mother, who kept her family of four out of poverty after her husband passed away suddenly when Thereza was just ten. ?Too many women rely on men to make the major financial decisions, then find themselves lost if they become widowed or divorced,? Thereza says. ?It?s time they took control of their financial destiny!?
As a proud American and a recovering son of the Garden State, I would like to hereby offer my formal public musical apology for Jersey Shore hitting your shores. We're hearing that you're not very impressed with our self-annoited guidos and guidettes now that their "reality" show is airing over there. As Roberto Del Bove, columnist for Rome's New Notzie newspaper, put it, Jersey Shore "embodies the worst stereotypes of Italians, multiplied by thousands and Americanized." Frankly, your rejection only makes us love you more, and we were already pretty darn impressed what with your pasta, your wine and that fine art stuff. We sure hope that you'll remember that we also gave you jazz & rock & roll, and overlook this rather unfortunate situation.
Scusa, David

Lea Michele was involved in a car crash on Friday morning (25.03.11).
The 24-year-old 'Glee' actress - who plays Rachel Berry in the Fox television series - was involved in a smash with another vehicle while driving down Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles on her way home from work, but is said to be doing "fine".
A representative for the star told USmagazine.com: "Lea was hit and notified the police. She was not injured and is fine."
Lea was hit and notified the police. She was not injured and is fine.
Despite Lea emerging from the incident relatively unscathed, an onlooker explained she quickly noted down the other car's details when she became aware she had been hit by a "couple of drunk girls".
A source added: "A couple of drunk girls hit her, got out of the car, giggled that she was famous, said something like, 'Are you drunk, too?' Then they drove off."
This isn't the first time the brunette beauty has been involved in a car crash.
Lea recently admitted she turned up to her 'Glee' audition with glass in her hair after getting into a "massive car wreck".
She said: "For my second audition I got into a massive car wreck, left my crashed car in the street and ran into the audition with cuts and glass in my hair. And then on the final audition, I had the worst neck ache from the car accident."

Working up a sweat, Matthew McConaughey was spotted exercising along Zuma Beach earlier today (March 28).
Known for being a fitness enthusiast, the 41-year-old stretched, jogged, and worked his abs in a blue pullover, gray and yellow shorts, and gray running shoes.
Meanwhile, the always in-shape "Lincoln Lawyer" stud stripped down for the April edition of Esquire magazine - in which he dished on his love for the Texas Longhorns, breaking his look-alike movie streak, and life in Malibu with girlfriend Camila Alves and their two children.
It seems no topic was off limits for Matthew during the Esquire interview except why he and Camila have not tied the knot, as he told, "Are there still things that I've got that our mine? That are nobody's business? Sure. Speculate all you want. Why didn't Camila and I get married? Nobody's business."
Helping to get fans revved up before the big event, Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte gave a pre-race performance at this weekend's (March 27) Auto Club 400 in Fontana, California.
The musical brothers hit the stage at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in their usual pop-rock garb which included sunglasses, necklaces and even a "Good Charlotte: Winning" t-shirt.
In related news, the group has just been added to the Festival for Humanity lineup for this year's Memorial Day weekend.
The band will headline the Vernon, New Jersey event on May 28th and will be in good company - as Third Eye Blind, The Misfits, and Soul Asylum are among the other slated acts.
Pemo Theodore, a Startup Coach & Australian origin online entrepreneur video interviews venture capitalists & women entrepreneurs on the shortfall in funding for women @EZebis: Winning theVenture Game for Women.
This interview is with Inge Geerdens, Founder CVWarehouse. CVWarehouse.com is an e-recruitment platform that is linked to the website of companies. She is also Founding Partner at Your Next Move & Ambassadrice at Executive Research. You can find Inge on her blog.
Pemo: Could you tell me briefly about your past history in sourcing venture capital?
Inge: I looked for money in 2006 to start up my company CVWarehouse & I raised Eur1m in 2007. I bought back my shares in 2008.
Pemo: Wow good work
Inge: And I?m preparing for a next round of vcs in 2011.
Pemo: Very good & did you source that in Europe, obviously if it was in Euros? in your own country, Belgium?
Inge: Yes I have contact with vcs within Europe & I raised money in Belgium.
Pemo: Fantastic, great!
Pemo: What personal lessons being a woman have you taken out of your successes &/or failures in that regard?
Inge: I can only speak about Europe but it surprises me a little that women are looked at differently in this case.
I think I got some very strange questions. But I also think I got huge visibility as I was the only woman.
Pemo: So it had its advantages & disadvantages. And you were successful which says a lot for you.
Pemo: What attitudes towards you being female have you noted from venture capitalists when you have been sourcing venture?
Inge: Well they ask more questions about my private life, my kids, how was I going to solve things & they were a little afraid I would spend too much time on my family I guess?
Pemo: Dreadful isn?t it? It is what it is!
Inge: What can I say? It?s not only vcs that ask that question. It?s more in general that I?m confronted with these types of questions as a female entrepreneur.
Pemo: Interesting, interesting, but they wouldn?t ask men those questions would they?
Inge: Well not at all I guess, no, no. They wouldn?t even think about it.
Pemo: What qualities do you think women entrepreneurs need specifically for sourcing venture?
Inge: I?ve been thinking about that question just before your call.
I think we have to act like men. We need to be proud. We need to be very self confident.
We need to have excellent communication & presentation skills. We need to say that we are better. We don?t need to be emotional. So just go to the point, show facts & figures & move further.
Pemo: So copy what the boys do & make sure that we?ve got all our bases covered is what you?d suggest, yeah?
Inge: Well do better than the boys do because we have female disadvantage.
Pemo: Thank you that?s a salient point.
Pemo: Do you think that the challenges that women entrepreneurs/startups have historically faced, mean that we will always be under represented sourcing venture?
Inge: I think a lot of women will always be underrepresented in any business context. Not only but of course also sourcing but already in companies, in boards, in setting up companies, in positions in companies.
Pemo: Have you noticed any changes in the last couple of years since you did your first round in attitudes from the venture community or angel community towards women in Belgium?
Inge: The period you?re talking about is of course the height of 2007 & I?m in the recruitment sector in Europe. So we got a major crisis in 2008 & 2009 so everything closed from a money point of view. I guess it?s not only towards the women. Something that I notice is that the venture capital world in my eyes is very macho, very white male but I guess they?re macho towards other male entrepreneurs as well. So I don?t know, I?m not sure.
Pemo: You are a non-technical CoFounder, do you believe that it is easier for technical women founders to achieve venture funding than non-technical? If so what are your reasons for this?
Inge: I don?t think it?s easier for them. What I did when I was looking for venture, was I really started doing competitions & contests on presentations & pitching.
I realized after my first presentation to venture capitalists that 90% of me raising money would depend on my presentation skills.
Pemo: Very good, so thats a real key point.
Inge: I did a contest & I won a prize in elevator pitching amongst 500 business plans & people pitching all over Europe. I really did it in order to raise money. I think the more technical people are, the harder they find to explain in human words what they exactly do & what they?re looking for. So I think being extrovert, having excellent presentation skills rewards much more in finding money. Because in the end they invest in a person or a team of people & not so much in a company or the technical part of a company.
Pemo: That?s a really good point, thank you.
Pemo: Could you list some of the advantages of gender diversity in a startup? Are there any disadvantages?
Inge: I think the balance would be the best. Not too many women for obvious reasons. Not too many men for obvious reasons. With balance I think women are much more long term. I also think that?s why we have so much difficulties with venture capitalists. Because venture capitalists from the business plan are short term anyway. So men are in the middle, women are very much in that long term strategy keeping an eye on the customers, the company, the employees. So I think having women is an advantage for the long term strategy. Having men is an advantage for the short term strategy because you need both.
Pemo: Fantastic, so what you?re saying is that the balance is the best, most optimum in any startup?
Inge: The real situation is to have the best people. Unfortunately in a startup, you have the people that want to go with you.
Pemo: Exactly, that?s great! Thank you so much for your time today, I so appreciate it. I wish you all the best for your next round.
